With additional support from the Fairfield County Commissioners, OSU Extension has been able to continue nutrition education programs in Fairfield County.  Since the beginning of 2026, the Family and Consumer Science Nutrition Education program assistants have been teaching at Tussing Elementary and Medill Elementary reaching over 500 students.  They are also making plans for Head Start, Millersport Elementary and Tallmadge Elementary this spring.  Adult classes are currently scheduled and conducted with veterans, seniors and The Recovery Center.  New dietary guidelines have been issued from the USDA so they are working to learn more about those guidelines and creating new ways to educate participants.
