    A hands-on Canning Basics class presented by Sandy Bohl through Family and Consumer Sciences with Ohio State University Extension Fairfield County. Participants will learn the process of preserving food using both water bath and pressure canning. There is no cost for attendance, but registration is requested to assist with proper planning.     On Wednesday, October 2, beginning at 6 p.m., Barrow and Lamb MQP exhibitors and their guests are invited to join us in the Fairfield County Ag Center to review both the Barrow and Lamb MQP contests and go over the results. OSU Extension Swine Specialist Dr. Steve Moeller will lead the program, offer comments and answer questions. A light supper featuring Greek gyro and also pulled pork sandwiches will be offered, compliments of Faler Feed Store in Lithopolis and the Ohio State University Meat Lab.

    On Sunday, September 29, the lambs in the MQP program must arrive at the Fairgrounds by 1 p.m. for weigh-in.

    The Swine MQP program concludes two weeks prior to the Fair on Sunday, September 22, at the Fairgrounds.

    The 2019 Ohio Watershed Leaders Conference registration is now open.  This overnight conference, which is designed to promote information exchange and networking opportunities for watershed professionals, will be held at Lake Hope State Park on September 5th-6th, 2019.

    Please note:  The Let's Jam class has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 29th, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. We still have two open slots if you are interested, just let us know.  Join Sandy Bohl to make JAM! This is a hands-on Jam-making workshop.  Participants will learn the process of making their own jam and take home a jar they helped make!  Class size is limited to eight, so please register early. Cost is $10 per person.
