See first hand how and where your food is grown. Enjoy a tour of Ruffwing Farms hosted by it's owners John and Cindy Albert and sponsored by Ohio State University Extension in Fairfield County.
Black and red raspberries and sweet corn are the main crops cultivated at Ruffwing Farms. You'll learn how they manage the spotted wing drosophila fruit fly on the berries. Asparagus and additional raspberry and blackberry cultivars were added for the 2012/13 season. Additionally, Bobwhite Quail are also raised with Bird Dog training offered beginning in late August. In addition to these crops and other seasonal produce, the Alberts also raise and market their own lamb.
Join us for an evening exploring one of our producers of locally grown foods. Reservations are not required, but are appreciated by contacting Kelley at OSU Extension (740-652-7263).
