See first hand how and where your grapes are grown and wine is produced. Enjoy a tour of Rockside Vineyard hosted by owner Valerie Coolidge and sponsored by Ohio State University Extension in Fairfield County.
The Coolidge family spends many hours in the vineyards caring for the vines, and in the fall harvests the grapes and begins the winemaking process. Twelve varieties of grapes are grown on the farm and RockSide also brings in some fruit from California to make wines from grapes that just cannot be grown well in Ohio's climate. Winemaking at RockSide follows traditional methods that have been used for thousands of years. Ten different wines are made in small, hand crafted batches, and only bottled when it is ready. The result are great wines made mostly from Ohio fruit.
Join us for an evening exploring one of our producers of locally grown foods. Reservations are not required, but are appreciated by contacting Kelley at OSU Extension (740-652-7263).
