Are you planning to preserve summer produce? Join us for Basic Canning presented by Shannon Carter, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator and Sandy Bohl, Instructor, with Ohio State University Extension Fairfield County. This program teaches individuals how to preserve fruits and vegetables by removing moisture to extend shelf life. Dehydration allows you to preserve seasonal produce for later consumption. It's one of the oldest and most widespread food preservation techniques. Dehydrated foods can be stored for longer periods without refrigeration, making them ideal for long-term storage and emergency preparedness. Program includes demonstrated techniques, handouts and discussion. There is no cost for attendance, but registration is requested to reserve your space.
