A Day at the Farm - April 15, 1999
A 'Day at the Farm' was hosted by the Lancaster FFA and OSU Extension in Fairfield County.
More than nineteen hundred pre-K through third graders from Lancaster City schools as well as other county schools, visited.
Lancaster FFA members guided the young people through their 'Day' and answered many questions about agriculture.
Fairfield County 4-H Agent Joe Campbell explained that agriculture is like a 'big pizza!" 
 
Yes, Mr. Ed does have teeth!

Horse drawn wagon rides were an order of the day. 
 

When may I go home? 
 
Lancaster Vocational Education Director Cindy Reef read farm stories to the children. 
 
There were lots of opportunities to 'touch and feel.' 
 
OSU Extension Associate Dee Jepsen discussed the importance of farm safety.

Even a llama came for the day 
 

Sandy Kuhn from River Valley Coop explains that cattle eat fermented corn.

"Yes, cattle need shots sometimes, too," according to Patty DeBruin of FeederCreek Vet Clinic. 
 

It was a long day, but, we'll be back next year.
